This week, I wanted to derive parallels from the worlds of modern science and traditional systems of healing. Emerging wellness technologies such as PEMF and light therapies can be applied more effectively using this knowledge for comfort and recovery.

Modern neurologists have been able to demonstrate an obvious relationship between the body and the brain which was first recognized by traditional physicians and healers who long ago evolved the practices of acupuncture, yoga, homeopathy, kabbalah, unani, etc.

What they found was that acupuncture relieved the local pain symptoms in the wrist, and led the brain’s cortical map of the hand to change shape into a healthier version.
In another study, on one on my favorite meditations, scientists took pictures of the brain's activity during the practice of Yoga Nidra. The visual center at the back of the head and the somatosensory center at the top of the head are active and are in contact with the limbic system. (Source)
